The next code resides on the wordpress site. It's a donation website landing page where one can choose from the dropdown list, a category for the donation. Upon choosing a category a control button shows and enables the consumer to carry on using their donation(presently disabled). Is effective in Safari, IE and Opera, nothing. Can anybody provide any help. Thanks ahead of time. Code to follow along with.

    <p class="donate2">Donate Now</p>

            frm.LinkId.value = value;
            if (value != "") {
                document.getElementById(button).style.display = "block";
            } else {
                document.getElementById(button).style.display = "none";

    <form style="float:right; margin-bottom: 100px; margin-left: 105px;" name="PrePage" id="Prepage" method ="post" action= "">

Alter the function's title to notClick and it'll work.

Exactly why your original code works in Chrome, although not in IE and (some versions of) Opera would be that the <select> tag includes a click() method within the latter two, although not in Chrome.

Therefore, the click() in <select onchange="click()"> will get construed as, which really models a click the choose box.

In Chrome, such function doesn't exist, so click() will get construed as, the function you defined.

do this:

<select size="1" width="100" name="selectbox" id="selectbox" onchange="click(document.PrePage,document.PrePage.selectbox.options[this.selectedIndex].value,'button');" >
<option selected value=""></option>
<option value="4671dbc4-02ca-459d-8a46-c0783d38319e">General Donation</option>
<option value="2">Dinner</option>
