Problem: I've some files under /var/www/files/ which i would like them to become utilized from specific IP addresses WITHOUT needing user/password. However, I'd like that every other Ip SHOULD require login to achieve access.

This really is during my httpd.conf:

<Directory /var/www/files/>
        Order deny,allow
        Deny all
        Allow from 192.168
        AuthUserFile /etc/apache2/basic.pwd
        AuthName "Please enter username and password"
        AuthType Basic
        Require user valid-user
</Directory>

But, basically understood properly, which means that any client originating from 192.168.* will get access to that directory And can need a valid-user to see its content. And then any other Ip is going to be refused. right?

Thanks ahead of time.

Add this: Satisfy Any (meaning either of individuals 2 ought to be passed).

And also the syntax is either:

Require valid-user

Or:

Require user <userid>
