I've OS X 10.5 about 40 websites within the Sites directory. I simply downloaded one from the server to initialize a nearby copy but I get refused access. The permissions appear fine but Apache continues to be giving me the 403. Any ideas why this could happen? Is there related to me installing the files from the web?

You might like to double-look into the permissions. All folders must have a+x and all sorts of files must have a+r. If that's the situation, determine if you will find any symbolic links inside. Based on your Apache configuration, symbolic links is probably not permitted. You should use the "SymLinksIfOwnerMatch" (safer) or "FollowSymLinks" (less secure) options inside your Apache configuration make it possible for symbolic links.
