Below is my current .htaccess file:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [PT]

Presently, the rewrite rule just grabs the GET value and provides it to index.php file. So, if I've got a form that logins a person the experience would seem like this: /user/login

I'm utilizing a MVC framework so my parameters are passed following the controller and action: /controller/action/param

I'd like for Apache to rewrite the above mentioned Hyperlink to just show the controller and action. So rather than this:

/controller/action/param/param/param

I'd understand this:

/controller/action

As the ReWrite at the very top still passes the whole /controller/action/param/param to become handled through the router method.

Is rewrite possible? If that's the case, are you able to assist me to to have it working?
