I've got a website and wish to redirect its pages to posts on my small blog. I looked at through this site folder but tend to not discover the '.htaccess' file. Could it be supplied by the website hosting or can one create my very own and employ it? Will it be only combined with Apache server.

If that is difficult the other option have i got for redirection.

You make your own .htaccess, simply by opening a document and saving it as being .htaccess.

You will want something similar to this inside it:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Possibly you simply aren't seeing the .htacces file. The us dot at the outset of the file title signifies that this can be a hidden file and won't be shown normally.

If you won't want to fool around with editing your .htaccess file, Redirection is a great Wordpress wordpress plugin that handles 301 redirects, logs, etc. and it is simple to use.

.htaccess is perfect for Apache only, other web servers get their own techniques of configuration and don't use .htaccess files.

As this is labeled "Wordpress" you may be by using their? Wordpress can create one after you have switch on pretty permalinks.
