I am getting an issue getting CodeIgniter to operate on my small hosting that is shared account. The URL is http://test.tallgreentree.com. It isn't giving us a .php error, but it's exhibiting a 404 page for everything I type in to the address bar.

Here's the start of my config.php file.

<?php  if ( ! defined('BASEPATH')) exit('No direct script access allowed')

/*

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Base Site URL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Hyperlink to your CodeIgniter root. Typically this is your base URL,

 Having a trailing slash:

   http://example.com/

*/

$config['base_url'] = "http://test.tallgreentree.com/"

/*

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Index File

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Typically this is your index.php file, unless of course you've re-named it to

 another thing. If you work with mod_rewrite to get rid of the page set this

 variable to ensure that it's blank.

*/

$config['index_page'] = "index.php"

/*

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

 URI PROTOCOL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

 This item determines which server global should be employed to retrieve the

 URI string. The default setting of "AUTO" works best for most servers.

 In case your links don't appear to operate, try among the other scrumptious tastes:

 'AUTO' Default - auto picks up

 'PATH_INFO'   Uses the road_INFO

 'QUERY_STRING'    Uses the QUERY_STRING

 'REQUEST_URI' Uses the REQUEST_URI

 'ORIG_PATH_INFO'  Uses the ORIG_PATH_INFO

*/

$config['uri_protocol'] = "AUTO"

Exist known issues when utilizing CodeIgniter with subdomains? What is leading to this? I have attempted multiple designs, but nothing appears to become employed by me. What server configurations must i seek advice from my host company?

Thanks all for the some time and assistance.

change

$config['uri_protocol'] = "AUTO"

to

$config['uri_protocol'] = "REQUEST_URI"

and find out in the event that fixes it

also, have you got the category controller title just like the file title?

filename = test.php

class Test ...

I acquired this dealing with "REQUEST_URI" however I'm able to only hit home page. The rest of the links (towards the controller) always refreshes towards the webpage. It's type of strange it shows the right URL but goes towards the webpage regardless of what URL clicking.

Any ideas? I actually do possess a .htaccess file,

RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /testci RewriteCond % ^system.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] RewriteCond % !-f RewriteCond % !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] RewriteCond $1 !^(index.phpimagescaptchacssjsrobots.txt) addType text/css .css
