I've 2 databases and wish to implement triggers on table update of database1 to complete perform some updates on database2's tables.

Example:
db1 includes a table 1t1
db2 includes a table 2t1
on placing a touple into 1t1 i wish to place corresponding touple into 2t1

By now Im using postgresql, however i dont mind switching with other free databases.
How to do this?

I would recommend to make use of database connect to begin a link between two remote DB.

Have a look for this page:

http://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/static/contrib-dblink-connect.html

There's additionally a good tutorial here:

bye, Andrea

Should you could replace databases with schemas everything becomes easy. Chance of such alternative is dependent on how you get selected databases as organisational models.

Postgresql 9.1 includes a new feature known as "foreign table":

Does which help maybe?
