I produced a gwt application having a gxt combobox. I've it where it pulls data (a listing of names apprx 5000) in the database places it in a wide array which in turns places it inside a store. That's then put into the combobox using set store, then when a person begins typing within the combo it searches with the store for that title. My question: is the easiest method to do that or perhaps is there permanently.
How's the performance loading that listing of 5000 names? Will it have a very long time to load your page? You might want to consider loading them since you need them to ensure that the gui loads faster.
This short article suggest 'lazy loading' gui components http://googlewebtoolkit.blogspot.com/2008/11/improving-performance-with-on-demand.html
How perhaps you have drawn lower their email list? I suppose is by RPC, perhaps you have used an information Transfer Object?, XML?
