I'm not a php developer which does not help here however i read articles regarding how to create my very own template in wordpress, that we did also it labored ok after i applied web site to some page within the wordpress content management systems. Then i desired to make my template display this content from the richtext editor in the 'edit page' screen within the content management systems. i figured adding this code i discovered in the single.php might work:

 <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post();?>
 <div class="post">
  <h2 id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>"><?php the_title();?></h2>
  <div class="entrytext">
   <?php the_content('<p class="serif">Read the rest of this page &raquo;</p>'); ?>
  </div>
 </div>

however it does not :( it simply provides me with a 'server error' page after i go to the page. can anybody help?

Is all of your file or simply a percentage from it? Whether it's the entire file, you didn't remember to shut an if-statement and also the while-loop (You opened up them in the first line) with the addition of the next:

<?php endwhile endif ?>

ignore this its just wrong P

<?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post();?>

could be just

<?php while (have_posts()) the_post();?>

however i think you have to use Professional-PHP
