Becasue it is a static menu and (I am speculating) you hardcoded your menu, the course current_page_item isn't turning up via WordPress. You will need to test drive it yourself.

Since you are creating recption menus by hand, you will need to by hand look for the present page with every food selection:

<nav>
  <ul id="menu">
    <li class="nav1 <?php if (is_front_page()) echo 'current_page_item'; ?>"><a href="http://localhost/wordpress/">What We Can Help? </a></li>
    <li class="nav2 <?php if (is_page('repossession')) echo 'current_page_item'; ?>"><a href="http://localhost/wordpress/repossession/">Repossession</a></li>
    /* repeat for each page */
  </ul>
</nav>

Perhaps you have attempted using "active" states for that menu links? For instance:

#menu .nav1 a.active {}
#menu .nav2 a.active {}
#menu .nav3 a.active {}

or

#menu .nav1 a:active {}
#menu .nav2 a:active {}
#menu .nav3 a:active {}
