I'm using wordpress to produce blog much like stackoverflow.com where customers can request questions. I made the decision that since my Request page is "same constantlyInch I produce a new page known as request.php. This site will retain the FORM. However , i am unable to link that page properly.

Within the header template I provide the connect to my request page. In my opinion this link links to custom php file during my styles folder *wordpress-contentthemesmythemename*

<a href="<?php echo get_bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/ask.php"> ask</a>

With regard to simplicity the items in my Request (request.php) page is simply 'diplay one header', no loop no footer etc.

<?php get_header(); ?>

The issue after i click the request link a clear page is opened up. After i hover mouse within the link I can tell the hyperlink is correct http://mysitename.com/wp-content/themes/own/index.php, where 'own' is my theme folder.

Which mtss is a problem I produced different php pages and transformed the hyperlink accordingly but always a clear page is opened up. Even if I attempt to provide connect to index.php

<a href="<?php echo get_bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/index.php"> Home</a>

First you are request.php theme file should retain the following lines at the very top :

Template Name: Ask

Adding a brand new page from wordpress-admin known as Request , and in the right sidebar around the edit page choose web site Ask with this page . Everithing should work all right .

p.s. don't incorporate a connect to the file in you are header but rather let wordpress list the page using the permalink you've occur wordpress-admin whenever you added the page .

It may sound as if you've produced a webpage inside a separate PHP file and never incorporated the WordPress header. Without that, you can't use WordPress functions like get_bloginfo().

Consider such as the header, or developing a static WordPress Page for the form.

Also, make sure that PHP errors are going to display in your server that will help you so as to.
