I am taking my chances with WordPress 3. beta 1 (single user)
Regrettably, i went into issues with d13slideshow.
I set up the wordpress plugin to show 5 latest from the category, added
<?php d13slideshow(); ?> by.perl, however it bombed:
function.getimagesize: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /<snip>/wp-content/plugins/d13slideshow/d13slideshow.php on line 538
Warning: getimagesize(http://<snip>/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/featured-2-580x386.jpg) function.getimagesize: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /<snip>/wp-content/plugins/d13slideshow/d13slideshow.php on line 538
Is an issue with the php setup or perhaps is there something I'm able to use the wordpress plugin or even the function call in the template files to really make it work?
It appears to become a configuration stuff... you'll have to edit your php.ini and alter the allow_url_include option from Off and away to On. For instance
# nano /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini ; Whether to allow include/require to open URLs (like http:// or ftp://) as files. allow_url_include = On
Then, you'll have to restart apache:
# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
You'll have to make use of the correct pathways for the server )
Let me know in the event that works...
You might not need your php.ini file because of hosting limitations. Request you host or look for an update to that particular wordpress plugin.
