I've tomcat application (war file) which individuals can deploy what ever they want. For instance by utilizing http/https fittings in Coyote, or using mod_jk/mod_proxy to allow Apache handle incoming http/https.

An issue that i'm getting is the fact that I have to determine the general public address the server is used at from inside the applying. Can there be in whatever way to extract this in the incoming request? For instance once the application is used through mod_jk using the ajp13 back-finish, I'd still prefer to realize that the request was initially completed to https://myserver.com.

Use jsonip, by doing this it can be done on startup and don't have to wait for request.
