I am getting difficulty enabling URL spinning on my small remote server. After I access the website in your area (using MAMP), I've no problems - I merely added the right rules towards the root .htaccess file.

However, on my small remote server, I'm getting no luck:

  • I have by hand enabled AllowOverride along with other appropriate directives in apache2.conf
  • I have attempted adding the rewrite rules to apache2.conf in an ifModule block
  • I have certainly got the rewrite module enabled in apache

I am unsure what else to test. Can there be something apparent I am missing?

edit: fixed! i simply wasn't including everything I ought to will be in the apache2 config file, d'oh! this is what ought to be there, for anybody that has similar problems (taken completely from the CI wiki):
