I have been researching for techniques regarding how to estimate the active memory working group of any OS, more particularly on the virtual machine. Let me have the ability to estimate how quickly may be the memory altering in the guest OS.

During my particular situation, I'm able to get information directly make up the hyper-visor concerning the memory consumption around the VM, but this can be a rough estimate of methods much memory is active at any particular time and exactly how it's calculated is type of a black box because the hyper-visor I'm using is really a commercial product.

My test guest OS is Linux Ubuntu 10.04 32 bits. Will it be easy to calculate this memory altering rate in the guest OS?

Thanks,

Juan.
