My opportunity is implementing a SaaS product. We're anticipating spikes of server load, but otherwise fairly static usage. Therefore:

Could it be smart to develop a server scenario where you've got a mix (hybrid):

  • an in-house devoted hardware that can take proper care of the "trunk" static load
  • a cloud computing handler (captive-raised to a PaaS provider like Amazon . com EC2) that will only "start workingInch at peak load occasions to handle extra traffic.

Perhaps you have had any bad/good encounters with your a predicament? Will it be easier to just stay with either?

Thanks,
