Your PYTHONPATH might not contain any project directory, or perhaps your DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE might not contain 'mysite.website', a minimum of from apache's perspective. Whatever user apache runs for your site will need that setup for this, as with its .profile. Or maybe you are using mod_python, they should be placed in the .htaccess or apache's httpd.conf. Or maybe you are using mod_wsgi, it must be within the wsgi setup file -- passenger_wsgi.py or even the like -- whatever apache's module is going to be searching for.

You look into the permissions on individuals files? (Apparent answer)
