I am making a game title in c++ that will have to store and retrieve details about gamers (title, email, high score) etc. I figured of attempting to simply get it done myself with XML however i think a genuine database (maybe SQL?) would perform a better job since with time there might be 1000's of customers.
Exist libraries to complete simple interactions with databases like queries, locating information, and storing information?
Yes, SQLite is going to do exactly this. It stores the database like a local file, if you want a web-based database server than the is possibly not the best choice.
It may sound like
sqlite may well be a good fit for you personally. It does not require a constantly running database server, also it does things wiser than hands-folded xml-serialization.
Sqlite has documentation.
