Very a new comer to web designOrweb hostingOrscripting.

Running an e-commerce shopping-trolley located through network solutions on Apache with PHP.

My first problem was the trolley template which i designated stored reverting to default. Second problem: when going to this site (jewelrydesignstudio.net) the page 404s and doesn't redirect towards the index.php/home.

I approached the buggies customer care to receive some assistance on fixing the problem(s) which exactly what the response.

Appreciate getting in touch with tech support team. It appears much like your server does not have mod_rewrite enabled. Enabling which should repair it.

I've got a very little bit of web dev experience, and also the before I screwed with any coding or scripting was Years back, but from things i remember mod_rewrite is enabled with the htaccess file around the FTP.

Here's my htaccess:

Options +FollowSymLinks

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^jewelrydesignstudio.net
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.jewelrydesignstudio.net/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /index\.html\ HTTP/
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ http://www.jewelrydesignstudio.net [R=301,L]

Appears the template problem is finished, but it is still not pointing to home page when going to (jewelrydesignstudio.net).

Yes I am very new which is pathetic :P Thank you for help!

Well ... it's difficult to tell what is wrong -- I am not really acquainted with your website whatsoever.

Listed here are couple of suggestions (I've combined my rules together with your htaccess):

Options +FollowSymLinks

RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^jewelrydesignstudio.net
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.jewelrydesignstudio.net/$1 [R=301,L]

RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /index\.html\ HTTP/
RewriteRule ^index\.html$ http://www.jewelrydesignstudio.net [R=301,L]

# do not do anything for already existing files
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule .+ - [L]

# home page
RewriteRule ^$ /index.php?p=home [QSA,L]

Basically request /index.php?p=home, it shows the house page. The above mentioned last rule should get the job done.
