I've got a varchar area within an h2 database that Let me have the ability to see each character of (including special figures like new line and carriage return).

Essentially, I have to be aware of h2 same as Oracle's dump().

rawtohex() works, but stringencode() is most likely simpler, because it returns the Java encoded string:

select rawtohex('test' || char(13) || char(444));
> 0074006500730074000d01bc

select stringencode('test' || char(13) || char(444));
> test\r\u01bc

I should have stored searching. Thought it was within the h2 documentation: rawtohex().
