I wish to please understand how to place individual 'articles' into individual CSS 'div's...??
Essentially my design has my web site split up into 4 different posts.. I would like have the ability to place individual articles in every one of individuals posts...
Right now, Joomla will set each article directly under one another, for example within the 'right' portion of the template, without permitting me to place any 'div's between your articles..
So perhaps what I am asking is how you can increase the sections to my template.. By sections i am talking about Eg. 'Banner' 'left' 'right' 'footer' 'disclaimer' etc... ???
Joomla templates use CSS like a styling tool. To be able to add new sections for your template you have to improve your Cascading down Style Sheets (*.css files).
Just one way of doing the work using CSS is
You may also get it done with tables obviously, just declare four posts.
You'll need a simple template override. Presuming that you're listing your blog style category, make a duplicate of /public_html/components/com_content/sights/category/tmpl/blog_item.php and set it in /templates/your template/html/com_content/category/blog_item.php. Edit that file the way you like then style accordingly. If you're not using blog category listing, just discover the corresponding template file within the com_content sights folder and employ that.
Once you understand how overrides arrange it can change the way you use Joomla.
It can be done with modules too. Edit your template index.php file, and place the divs in which you want using the corresponding float:
<div id="left"> <jdoc:include type="modules" name="left" style="" /> </div> <div id="right"> <jdoc:include type="modules" name="right" style="" /> </div>
In which the left, and also the right ids are occur web site css file using the floats and etc.
Next would be to range from the positions into templateDetails.xml right place, such as this:
You can now create modules (Custom HTML modules) using the text/content, and squeeze produced modules in to the left or right position title.
