I am employed by a customer who installed WordPress on his server. However it does not have upload creates due to some configurations that should be transformed via command-line.

I am attempting to do as instructed from Media Temple (where he's located) make it possible for PHP to operate as FastCGI to be able to give WordPress a chance to upload files to some server. Regrettably I must do that via command line and that i don't have any knowledge about command line. Instructions are located here:

http://wiki.mediatemple.net/w/(dv)_3.5:Run_PHP_as_FastCGI_and_resolve_Apache_permission_errors

I'm able to get so far as step fiveOr6

vim /var/www/vhosts/example.com/conf/vhost.conf

Add the next lines towards the file:

File:vhost.conf

AddHandler fcgid-script .php
SuexecUserGroup domainuser psacln
<Directory /var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpdocs>
FCGIWrapper /var/www/vhosts/example.com/bin/php-cgi .php
Options +ExecCGI +FollowSymLinks
allow from all
</Directory>

However I have no clue how you can save.

I am very a new comer to command line so any help could be great. Let me have the ability to give WordPress a chance to upload files soon.

Thanks ahead of time for helping me.

  1. Open the config file (step five)
  2. Press "i" - now you're in "Place" mode
  3. Customize the file
  4. Press "Esc" - now you're in the "Command" mode
  5. Press ":" - you can now enter instructions
  6. Press "wq" - "w" = "write" and "q" = "quit"
