This content of .htaccess is:

php_value upload_max_filesize 64M

Creates localhost, screws up every hosting server I upload it to. The mistake.record states: Invalid command 'php_value', possibly misspelled or based on a module not incorporated within the server configuration

Can there be a different way to alter the upload_max_filesize?

The issue was the host company, they merely allow altering this via php.ini

Just copy the code below for your .htaccess file

########
php_value upload_max_filesize 64M
php_value post_max_size 64M
php_value max_execution_time 500
php_value max_input_time 500
