I'm using CakePHP framework, it redirect everything towards the application folder using .htaccess, after which I setup a WordPress blog in /news/ folder outdoors of CakePHP, so I'm not going my way through /news/ to become redirect, and so i customize the .htaccess, here is the ultimate version:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/news/(.*)$
    RewriteRule ^.*$ - [L]
</IfModule>

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule    ^$ app/webroot/    [L]
    RewriteRule    (.*) app/webroot/$1 [L]
</IfModule>

It's working fine in IE and Opera, I'm able to visit mydomain/news/, however in Google Chrome, still it redirects to CakePHP application folder. How do i fix this?

Update: I discovered will be able to visit /news/somepage, but can't go to the /news/

May want to try clearing your Chrome cache - should you have had a classic rule that triggered a "hard" redirect or shipped a 404/403 status message, it might be inside.

I'm able to visit honstars.com/news/ with Chrome.Book the group of you browser.

Unsure about that one, but try having a user agent test - RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^BrowserName.* . Are you currently delivering any extra headers?
