I am accustomed to making .htaccess rewriterules for PHP sites. However I am trying to get it done with IIS7 which is completely new for me personally.

What I'd like happens when I place the url using the page later on (www.website.ext/page), it searches for the page www.website.ext/index.php?page=title.

Inshtaccess it might be something similar to:

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?page=$1

But how do i do that in IIS7?

Thanks ahead of time!

I believe that's difficult without plug ins. We bought that one couple of years back http://www.helicontech.com/isapi_rewrite/ for mod_rewrite

You'll be able to upload your .htaccess file like on apache server.

I have had success having a software known as IIRF. It's an open-source URL spinning ISAPI filter for IIS 6. or later. Fundamental Apache mod_rewrite style rules will run with hardly any fine-tuning however, some rules may need extra effort plus some might not work on all. Observe that IIRF utilizes a per-website configuration file known as IIRF.ini rather than Apache style .htaccess files.

You may even wish to take a look at URL Rewrite module for IIS7. I haven't personally tried on the extender but it's a Microsoft product and well supported.
