On my small Apache server I've this rules:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
        RewriteEngine On
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
        RewriteRule (.*) /shindig/index.php [L]
</IfModule>

This redirects every request to /shindig/index.php, I wish to redirect every request except individuals for anything within this path: /myOrigPath

How do i do that? Please think that I've very little understanding of mod_rewrite

Thanks

You should use another RewriteCond and exclude that path:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/myOrigPath
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule (.*) /shindig/index.php [L]

You might look into the matched up worth of your RewriteRule pattern rather than %{REQUEST_URI} with either $0 (whole match) or $1 (match from the first group).
