i've produced a wordpress site inside a folder on the site and am getting trouble moving the database so was searching directly into methods for cloaking the websites url on every page having a .htaccess file. right now the website is really a beta at www.christopherwaller.com. I needed to consider getting rid of the ugly Web addresses with page-id etc....

Does anybody know if this sounds like possible. or maybe the .htaccess file isn't what you want

much appreciated

You should use the build in wordpress features, take a look at Permalinks

In case your attempting to vary from

http://www.christopherwaller.com/wordpress/?page_id=240
to
http://www.christopherwaller.com/wordpress/about

Just navigate for your admin user interface, click Configuration around the left menu, after which on Permalinks.

Fill the 'Custom' area with /%postname% and also the links should appear as the expect.
