Whenever I edit the 'sidebar.php' file (so that they can strip the Blogroll &lifier Meta parts of along side it bar) the whole site breaks...

<ul>

        <?php /* If this is the frontpage */ if ( is_home() || is_page() ) { ?>
            <?php wp_list_bookmarks(); ?>
            <li><h2>Meta</h2>
            <ul>
                <?php wp_register(); ?>
                <li><?php wp_loginout(); ?></li>
                <li><a href="http://validator.w3.org/check/referer" title="This page validates as XHTML 1.0 Transitional">Valid <abbr title="eXtensible HyperText Markup Language">XHTML</abbr></a></li>
                <li><a href="http://gmpg.org/xfn/"><abbr title="XHTML Friends Network">XFN</abbr></a></li>

                <?php wp_meta(); ?>
            </ul>
            </li>

^^ This is the bit I am attempting to strip out. Any ideas why it's approaching being an error page each time I attempt?

Thanks - Tara

I have speculating removing this lines are the issue:

<?php /* If this is the frontpage */ if ( is_home() || is_page() ) { ?>

You are most likely departing the closing a part of that if statement (which may a } ) around the page and it is leading to a syntax error.

You'll either wish to take away the entire if statement or simply this content within it.

(Because of Emil for that edit suggestion)

Within the Admin portion of Wordpress goto Appearance -> Icons There however widget area you are able to drag &lifier drop meta or no matter which widget to become disabled towards the Inactive icons area to ensure that the meta widget is going to be disappeared in the top of the page
