Within the fiddle here http://jsfiddle.net/mjmitche/KvwGw/21/, whenever you submit the shape, a brand new form seems, as well as the background color changes.

On the wordpress blog, I am attempting to alter the background image once the form is posted. The look was submitted towards the server here

www.example.com/wp-content/themes/thesis_18/custom/images/strawhat.jpg

after which it's displayed using css (during my custom wordpress theme) like so

body.custom {
    background: #8db6b6 url('images/subway.jpg') repeat;
}

During my stupidity, I initially attempted to create the backdrop image change unsuccessfully while using code below, but since the background image is submitted towards the server, Now i realize/think some Ajax is needed to alter the backdrop image on submit, however i weren't in a position to learn how to get it done

Does anybody understand how I'd result in the ajax call to get this done?

$("#submit").click(function(){
    $(".contactform").hide(1000,function(){
        $(".contactforms").css({display:"block"});
        $("body.custom").css({background: "url('images/strawhat.jpg') repeat;"});
    });
  });

$("#send").click(function(){
    $(".contactforms").hide(1000)
        });

UPDATE I attempted this (writing the path), following a suggestion from the first responder, however it did not work.

$("#submit").click(function(){
    $(".contactform").hide(1000,function(){
        $(".contactforms").css({display:"block"});
        $("body.custom").css({background: "url('/wp-content/themes/thesis_18/custom/images/strawhat.jpg') repeat;"});

    });
  });

$("#send").click(function(){
    $(".contactforms").hide(1000)
        });
