I published on serverfault and didn't have your call answered that labored for me personally.

How on the planet are you able to completely browse the apache paperwork on vHost configuring, try just about any concoction and have the first scenario in which the first couple of vHosts and sites work great after which everybody after pops up bad. "Bad Request" "Server Not Found."

Here's the fundamental vHost file (in /etc/apache2/sites-available), duplicated exactly 4 occasions over and done with just the "mysitename1" altering, its DocumentRoot and it is Directory altering. BTW, this version is applying the localhost IP (127...1) but I have used *:80 using the identical results.

<VirtualHost 127.0.0.1>
 ServerAdmin xx@yyyyy.com
 ServerName localhost.mysitename1.com

 DocumentRoot /home/folder/folder/folder/folder
 <Directory />
  Options FollowSymLinks
  AllowOverride All
 </Directory>
 <Directory /home/folder/folder/folder/folder>
  Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
  AllowOverride None
  Order allow,deny
  allow from all
 </Directory>

 ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/
 <Directory "/usr/lib/cgi-bin">
  AllowOverride None
  Options +ExecCGI -MultiViews +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch
  Order allow,deny
  Allow from all
 </Directory>

 ErrorLog "path to this site's error.log"

 LogLevel warn

 CustomLog "path to this site's access.log"

    Alias /doc/ "/usr/share/doc/"
    <Directory "/usr/share/doc/">
        Options Indexes MultiViews FollowSymLinks
        AllowOverride None
        Order deny,allow
        Deny from all
        Allow from 127.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 ::1/128
    </Directory>

</VirtualHost>

And within the ports.conf is: (I have began using the *:80 rather than the 127...1) - same results as referred to above:

Listen 80
NameVirtualHost 127.0.0.1

I am curious about the doc sentence of: "Place the records inside your hosts apply for local testing, but which will work only in the machine with individuals hosts records." That's all I am attempting to do, basically a developing atmosphere where I'm able to focus on multiple sites in your area. I can not find this "hosts" file, but I am wondering basically joined my first couple of domain names (a very long time ago) and didn't remember the way i made it happen. ??

Thank you for any help.
