im looking to get wordpress wordpress get_the_category to make use of my ajax code.. case a snippet of category_template.php where ive added the code so don't mind the incomplete code.

factor is is employed by my other links except here' have trouble choosing the right a. im while using id from the a to discover it however i have no idea howto obtain the correct title within the ajax script.. ie. the $('a#widgetcat').click(..etc wont output the right title.

im putting this within that loop becuz otherwise it is not within the same query (it appeared my other ajaxlinks needed this)

i am not that familiar with ajax yet so any assistance is welcome.

$thelist .= '<a id="widgetcat' . $category->term_id .'" href="' . get_category_link( $category->term_id ) . '" title="' . esc_attr( sprintf( __( "View all posts in %s" ), $category->name ) ) . '" ' . $rel . '>' . $category->name.'</a></li>';
            } ?>
            <script>
                $('a#widgetcat<?php get_the_category(); ?>').click( function() {
                                $.post('<?php the_permalink(); ?>', function(widgetdata) {
                                    $('.content').html(widgetdata);
                                });
                                event.preventDefault;
                                return false;
                            });

        </script>

SOLUTION:

$('.anydivyouwant a').click( function() {
   varLink = $(this).attr('href');
   $.post(varLink, function(data) {
      $('.content').html(data);
   });
   event.disableDefault;
   return false;
});

In some way this doesn't operate in Opera.. anybody got an idea why?
