My jQuery functions are firing but not one of them will work via a vanilla wordpress install. Has other people had this issue?

To exhibit a good example of this is quite challenging becasue it is running via a framework.

I've an exterior JS script known as 'main.js':

<script src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/js/jquery-1.4.4.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="UTF-8"></script>
<script src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/js/main.js" type="text/javascript" charset="UTF-8"></script>

$(document).ready(function() {

    foo1('.foo1',500);

    $(".foo2").foo2({
        // foo2
    });
});

function foo1(e,s) {
    // foo1
}

It's normal setup an working when located. It is simply on localhost it is not working for whatever reason. It is possible to MAMP (OSX) setting that should be setup.

The '$' sign doesn't work within wordpress by due to conflicting js libraries. Use $.noConflict to deal with this issue using the syntax below:

$.noConflict();
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {

   foo1('.foo1',500);

   $(".foo2").foo2({
    // foo2
   });

});
