I personally use Apache 2.2 and Tomcat 6..18 on Home windows XP. I wish to to redirect the URL that involves my Apache instance into Tomcat using the module mod_jk.

I wish to have the ability to redirect from http://localhost/myvanityURL to Tomcat in which the application is situated at http://localhost:8080/MyApp/Start. I've installed the module. Basically go into the URL http://localhost/MyAppStart it will get properly rerouted to Tomcat however i want the URL in Apache I am missing where/the way i set the rule to redirect http://localhost/myvanityURL to my actual URL in Tomcat. Should i use Rewrite rules or how must i get it done? I haven't made any configuration in Tomcat associated with mod_jk.

My httpd.conf file

JkWorkersFile conf/employees.qualities JkShmFile logs/mod_jk.shm JkLogFile logs/mod_jk.log JkLogLevel info JkLogStampFormat "[%a %b %d %H:%M:%S %Y] " JkMount /myvanityURL worker1 JkOptions +ForwardURIProxy

My employees.qualities file

Define 1 real worker using ajp13

worker.list=worker1 # Set qualities for worker1 (ajp13) worker.worker1.type=ajp13 worker.worker1.host=localhost worker.worker1.port=8009

TIA, Magnus

This short article wound up helping me have it focus on a dev box.
