I have got the next setup:

  • Ubuntu 11.10
  • MySQL Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.58
  • Apache webserver on localhost
  • Two wordpress 3.3 sites, each at it's own Apache alias on localhost
  • Each Wordpress site connects to it's database having a database user which has privileges simply to it's own database schema

After I start Apache and mySQL:

  1. Connect with Wordpress site A with mysql user A: site A = OK
  2. Connect with Wordpress site B with mysql user B: error "Error creating a database connection"

I Quickly restart Apache and MySQL:

  1. Connect with Wordpress site B with mysql user B: site B = OK
  2. Connect with Wordpress site A with mysql user A: error "Error creating a database connection"
  3. Connect with Wordpress site A with mysql user "root": site A = OK and B =OK

Within the Server Administration of MySQL Work bench the Concurrent Connections from the Wordpress database user is placed to "", which suggests there is no limit.

How should i setup the MySQL customers to have the ability to connect concurrently to many database schema's?
