I'm moving websites in one server to a different. Both of them are on the similar variant of Centos 5 x64 with Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.2.X.

A number of my scripts including Wordpress are acting improperly. It works out the problem may be the distinction between the REQUEST_URI global:

Around the older server: REQUEST_URI = /phpinfo.php
Around the new server: REQUEST_URI = http://www.mydomain.com/phpinfo.php

I've transformed my very own code to support either variant try not to actually want to get it done for Wordpress etc.

What should i do in apache/php to create REQUEST_URI behave according to that old server?

In a guess, that old server is processing the request while using default vhost as the more recent server utilizes a named virtual host (although that may be tailgate to cab).
