I'm presently focusing on an internet site in which the core from the website is within PHP. I would now like to write a lot of programs in addition core, and was wishing to get it done in Rails. I saw a few things online enabling you to set single folders to become handled by PHP, (example: http://macdiggs.com/2007/06/29/using-php-inside-rails-structure-on-apache/) however i am wishing to target your product, have single folders that are addressed by Rails, and so the relaxation is handled by PHP. For instance, getting ourwebsite.com/blog like a Rails application, but ourwebsite.com and ourwebsite.com/internal are in PHP. What type of Apache designs would permit this to happen?
(Like a bonus, my server is handled by Plesk, and so i am worried about making straight changes towards the apache configuration. I've root access, in order to get it done, however i am worried that Plesk could easily get mad)
EDIT: I ought to also mention, I'm using Subdomains included in my application, and so i would actually would rather have something similar to ourwebsite.com/rails_application. If that's your best option, I'm able to go down that path, however i would rather to not.
I'm focusing on a task and it is getting some blog in php ie wordpress and application in rails. Just set up it an hour or so before. May help you.
