Been only at that for some time, and so i figured I'd request for help. Here's the .htaccess apply for wordpress within the root:

AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php
AddHandler x-httpd-php .php4

# BEGIN WordPress

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /

RewriteCond $1 !^(community)(/|$)
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

I am essentially asking it to disregard the "community" directory, where pyrocms is going to be installed. Here's my .htaccess file locally subdir:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

 Options +FollowSymLinks
 RewriteEngine on

 # NOTICE: If you get a 404 play with combinations of the following commented out lines
 #AllowOverride All
 RewriteBase /community

 # Restrict your site to only one domain
 #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^example\.com$
 #RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://example.com/$1 [L]

 # Keep people out of codeigniter directory and Git/Mercurial data
 RedirectMatch 403 ^/(system\/pyrocms\/cache|system\/codeigniter|\.git|\.hg).*$

 # Send request via index.php (again, not if its a real file or folder)
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

 <IfModule mod_php5.c>
  RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L]
 </IfModule>

 <IfModule !mod_php5.c>
  RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L]
 </IfModule>

</IfModule>

I recieve a 404 (the CI 404) after i attempt to access /community/installer

Furthermore, basically try different configurations for uri_proticol, I recieve strange results. db connection errors, etc. I have been capable of getting the primary page from the installer to exhibit, but no steps past that.

Any ideas? Haven't found any paperwork for correctly setting up pyrocms for any subdirectory installation.

Reinstate your WordPress .htaccess (remove it, and regenerate it in the permalinks option within the panel).

Now, improve your /community/.htaccess for this,

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /community
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA]
</IfModule>

Hope that can help.

What the heck are you currently doing that for?!

I might make PyroCMS however i won't support something as mental as that -)
