how do you configure my .htaccess rewrite rules to accomodate GET demands?

Presently, /manager/page would go to: ?dept=manager&n=page however, some pages have additional GET reqs, and thus this rule does not work:

RewriteRule ^([A-Za-z]+)/([A-Za-z]+)$ index.php?dept=$1&n=$2 [QSA]

I'd need: ?dept=manager&n=page&id&etc=etc to visit: /manager/page/id/5/etc/6 however, not every pages present exactly the same approach to id input, IE. some pages used id, others catid, yet others, bugid, therefore it is a little difficult.

Thanks :)

Up-to-date: Finish URL - id/5/etc/6

In case your input techniques are actually that varied, you need to use multiple RewriteRules for every different format.

You need to simply sepcify another rule.

RewriteCond ${HTTP_METHOD} "GET"
RewriteRule --your rule--
