And So I observed some odd behavior with Apache today. It seems that after I change my location from "/" to "/somedir" that PHP doesn't correctly set the $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_PW'] variable. I don't know why this really is happening nor will i know what to do to determine why it couldn't receive set.
I'm using PHP5 and Apache2 with LDAP as my authentication method. Once the user hits the website they're motivated for qualifications. Like I stated, basically possess the authentication put on "/" then my variable can get set upon effective login. However, basically get it set to some certain directory (I wish to have only password protection on some dirs and never all) then it won't get set.
