I've got a lengthy URL that points to initial page from the website and I wish to keep it simplistic so user can remember it. I'd rather not do client-side redirects, I wish to get it done on server side to really make it faster. I personally use Weblogic like a web-server.

It is possible to method to redirect from say http://aaa.com/subproject to http://aaa.com/Project/subproject/index.html? What files must i modify make that happen?

Would you only do for that first url?

If perhaps the very first, just create an entry in web.xml pointing the <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file> with a index.jsp within the root for that webapp named subproject.

Within this index.jsp, perform a jsp:forward towards the actual url you would like.
