I am using codeigniter and .htaccess spinning. Presently it's spinning all non-existing file queries to index.php(CodeIgniter), like so:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ ./index.php?/$1 [L]

Now i would like prefer to rewrite web addresses starting with "images" to "application/images" if file does not exist. Something similar to this:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/images
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ ./application/$1 [L]

Well, that actually works in root directory, although not in subdirectory. I don't want to include subdirectory title to htaccess, i'd want it to be dynamic. Therefore if i'll make copy of the dir, and relabel it, i shouldn't change my htaccet for this dir.

RewriteRule is in accordance with your directory im working but RewriteCond isn't? Thanks ahead of time :)

Issue is solved with this:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(images|js|css)(.*)$ ./application/$1$2 [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(images|js|css)(.*)$ ./application/$1$2 [L]
