I've got a database produced by some application. Whole database is much more than 50 gb, some issues with backup copies are occurring and my task is to buy this database no more than possible.

Especially one table is extremely large(22 gb), that 16.5 gb is taken by indexes, relaxation 5.5 gb is data. It consists of nothing more than 12 000 000 rows.

Would You let me know can you really shrink the indexes? I have already attempted repairing, restructuring, re-creating clustered index, dbcc cleantable. I additionally realize that nvarchar type takes two times size than varchar, and so i transformed posts type to varchar, but because of which i saved no more than 2 gb(1 gb on data and 1 gb on indexes).
