I have been getting an issue with my media browser for days and weren't in a position to solve it. When browsing to place a picture, the media library shows practically nothing, just blank whitened. I see tabs saying it sees the objects within the library, but they don't display as pictures to choose.

For whatever reason it simply happened in my experience (a-doy) to check out my server logs - works out my Web service provider continues to be controlling PHP errors. The mistake I am getting is:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_publish_thumbnail_id() in REDACTED/wordpress-admin/includes/media.php online 1292, referer: http://REDACTED/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=877&type=image&amp

This is baffling - Used to do a totally fresh install of WordPress to solve this issue, but I am still getting an "undefined function" error. Why happening, and just how can one repair it?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It appears as if you need to initialize theme support before get_publish_thumbnail_id() may be used.

<?php add_theme_support('post-thumbnails'); ?>

Make certain that the add_theme_support('post-thumbnails') function operates before init. I understand it has screwed me up after i been with them inside a hook tied into init.

Whether it needs to be hooked in, it ought to be hooked into after_setup_theme
