I'm using MySQL DB.

I've got a cars table, by explaining this table describe cars, I begin to see the "flag" area of the table has type tinyint(1).

I attempted to update the need for "flag" area for those records within this table by performing the next command:

UPDATE TABLE cars SET flag=0;

However It fails, the error message is:

ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near UPDATE TABLE cars SET flag=0

Why it fails? How you can resolve it?

UPDATE cars SET flag=0;

... the TABLE keyword is wrong

Try the next:

UPDATE cars SET flag=0;

You do not need the TABLE inside.

Try simply:

UPDATE cars SET flag=0;

TABLE - is really a reserved MySQL word.

UPDATE cars SET flag=0;

UPDATE cars SET flag=0;

remove TABLE keyword:

UPDATE `cars` SET `flag` = 0;
