During my php.ini file (there's just one around the system) I've

post_max_size = 8M
upload_max_filesize = 8M
upload_max_size = 8M

Initially these were set to 2M. I transformed these to 8M restarted apache, even restarted instance. However when I perform a phpinfo() onto it, still it shows 2M.

I think I've the best php.ini file if I boost the max_execution_time that it is reflected within the phpinfo() but anything I place in for upload_max_filesize and publish_max_dimensions are not reflected in phpinfo() despite the fact that I make sure php.ini and also the configurations exist.

This can be a AWS Linux instance. php5.2.16 apache 2.2.17(EL)

Any ideas in the guru’s available?

Have you got records in Apache's .htaccess file which are overwriting the choices?

They'd look something similar to:

php_flag post_max_size 2M
php_flag upload_max_filesize 2M
php_flag upload_max_size 2M
