i've some problems getting trac to become running with apache.

have no clue of methods to complete and also the tutorial i adopted does not work.

http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracModPython

i've a clear /etc/apache2/httpd.conf. if it is empty?

i quickly adopted the tutorial and entered:

LoadModule python_module modules/mod_python.so

now it consists of one row. i've ubuntu and that i installed mod_python with:

apt-get install libapache2-mod-python libapache2-mod-python-doc

however, after i run a2enmod mod_python it states:

ERROR: Module mod_python does not exist!

however i have checked it is available in /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_python.so.

so what is the issue?

Usually, setting up mod_python via:

apt-get install libapache2-mod-python

will enable it. If it doesn't, the right command is:

a2enmod python

note, the module is 'python', not 'mod_python'.

First, your httpd.conf might be empty, but it's also wise to possess a apache2.conf within the same directory that really consists of all of the server directives.

For the module, I had been getting exactly the same problem after which did some digging. Should you try looking in /etc/apache2/mods-enabled, you ought to have one out of there known as "python.load" (I actually do a minimum of). Should you open that track of mire, you will observe the next line for the reason that file:

LoadModule python_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_python.so

I believe that it could you need to be that it is installed having a different title. If another person knows different, I'd want to consider hearing their sights too.
