I am managing a small demonstration of Amazon . com Web Service's fundamental Fedora 8 Light stack. The default site is to establish at /home/username/helloworld, but my web root of preference reaches /home/username/example.com. Issue is, once the server reboots, it begins while using httpd.conf in /home/username/helloworld. I've no clue where you can attempt searching around with this. Any suggestions?

Begin by reading through /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf. It might include other files, however, you can follow them and find out.

Should you modify this file, you are able to update apache:

Change to root:
su -

Check config:
service httpd configtest

Elegant restart:
service httpd graceful

Be sure to backup!
