This is what I am attempting to do: joomla in 1 subdirectory, wordpress in another.

mysite.com directs towards the joomla directory

mysite.com/blog gives wordpress.

I'd like to make use of search engine optimization friendly permalinks for.

I'm using Zeus Linux hosting that is shared with Joomla 1.5 and wordpress 2.9.2, and getting a lot of trouble getting a appropriate rewrite script. Any help could be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Place the WordPress .htaccess in to the 'blog' directory:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /blog/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

Apache uses this .htaccess for those demands for this directory, and also the Joomla rules within the primary .htaccess aren’t impacted by the WordPress rules.
