I am using custom WordPress groups for many most likely unintentional functions, I'll admit (such things as marking a publish no/index simply by adding it to my custom "no-index" category, etc). However it sucks that WordPress doesn't enable pages with the little extra supplies you receive with posts.

For instance, as the publish editor provides you with convenient use of Tags, Groups, along with a Publish excerpt area, pages get omitted within the cold.

Let me determine if its likely to include the These products towards the Publish editor via add_action() directive from the custom theme.

The next will prove to add category and excerpt sections.

add_action('admin_menu', 'my_page_excerpt_meta_box');
add_action('admin_menu', 'my_page_categories_meta_box');

function my_page_excerpt_meta_box() {
    add_meta_box('postexcerpt', __('Excerpt'), 'post_excerpt_meta_box', 'page', 'normal', 'core');

function my_page_categories_meta_box() {
    add_meta_box('categorydiv', __('Categories'), 'post_categories_meta_box', 'page', 'side', 'core');
