Please have a look because the link add theme support--Post Thumbnails

You are able to set thumbnail support for specific publish types or all publish type using the add_theme_support function in functions.php file of the theme.

This feature allows publish-thumbnail support for any Theme. This feature grew to become provided with Version 5.9. Note that you could optionally pass another argument together with the publish types that you wish to enable this feature.

add_theme_support('post-thumbnails');

Make it possible for just for Posts:

add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails', array( 'post' ) );

Or only Pages:

add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails', array( 'page' ) );

Enable for Posts and "movie" publish type although not for Pages.

add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails', array( 'post', 'movie' ) );

This feature should be known as prior to the init hook is fired. Which means it must be placed straight into functions.php or inside a function connected to the after_setup_theme hook:

For custom publish types, you may also add publish pictures while using register_publish_type work as well.
